Why is there virtually no osteoarthritis and rheumatoid arthritis among the Maori people of New Zealand?
Scientists ultimately traced the answer to the oil of the green-lipped muscle which is a mainstay of their diet. This oil (rich in fatty acids and specifically eicosatetraenoic acid) is commonly known as lyprinol. These oils have been shown to have significant anti-inflammatory effects.
I have known about these oils for quite some time. I don’t use them daily for my arthritis, because I have found other nutrients that eliminate my inflammation, but I have used them in the past with great effect for specialized issues (particularly bronchial inflammation). Recently a friend forwarded to me an article that reminded me of the power of this nutrient so I thought I would share some of the highlights with you in case it might be an answer for you.
For example: One study pitting Lyprinol against indomethacin (pharmaceutical) showed that there was a 97% reduction of swelling with lyprinol as compared to an 83% reduction with indomethacin. It has been shown to significantly out-perform other oils such as MaxEPA and Evening Primrose with the issue of swelling. One German study showed dramatic improvement with rheumatoid arthritis, where 21 of 34 people previously on prescription medications were able to reduce or stop using, their medication.

Lyprinol is used as support for: respiratory inflammation issues, skin issues, muscle swelling and stiffness, joint issues, and cardiovascular issues. I have also heard great results with migraines as well.
Like all nutritients, the results will vary. Sometimes a nutrient will help someone immediately, sometimes it will help over time, and sometimes it doesn’t seem to help at all (I say seem, because good nutrients are always helping something in the body even if you don’t notice it). But, as always, there is no risk or side effects with good nutrients, so they should always be at the forefront of getting and staying healthy, and medications are not effective for everyone anyway yet they have a heavy toll on the body. The best lyprinol product I know of, and the one I use when needed is Lyprinex.
