Proverbs 22 starts with this simple but powerful lesson for your business: “A good name is to be chosen rather than great riches.”
Too many people get caught up in the profit element of business and forget that people and doing what is right should always come first. Of course, profit is essential for a business to survive. When it comes down to it, a business has to make money long run, but it must come from bringing value to the market place, and doing it in the right way. People want to do business with those they like and trust. Never compromise your reputation for the sake of money.
In my 22 years in home business I have seen sooooo many people blow their reputation trying to make a fast buck. Was it worth it? Nope. Never. Always do the right thing and the best thing and you will be known as a person of integrity. A person of integrity who works diligently on their business will succeed in the long run to whatever level they desire. So the irony here is that IF great riches are what someone would like to acheive, they will be in a better position to accomplish it in the long run by having a great reputation! Be nice, be honest, be respectful and work diligently, and you will ultimately have both a good name and whatever level of financial success you desire. Never compromise your reputation for any amount of money.
