“A Morning Resolve”

Every Morning I read extensively to help myself grow personally, emotionally, and spiritually. Some of you have heard me speak about this or have read my books or listened to a CD and already know how much this has helped to shape my life and help me overcome all the normal struggles of the mind we all face. Everyday is a new day, which requires putting on new armor.

“A Morning Resolve” is a little card I have tucked in my bible that I read each day that my Mom gave me years ago that comes from the Day by Day series. As you read this think about each piece of this and consider how your life would be if you lived this little resolve each day. I promise you this…it is right on the money, AND it’s not easy…but it’s worth it!

“I will try this day to live a simple, sincere and serene life, repelling promptly every thought of discontent, anxiety, discouragement, impurity, and self-seeking; cultivating cheerfulness, magnanimity, charity, and the habit of holy silence; exercising economy in expenditure, generosity in giving, carefulness in conversation, diligence in appointed service, fidelity to every trust, and a childlike faith in God.”

“In particular I will try to be faithful in those habits of prayer, work, study, physical exercise, eating, and sleep which I believe the Holy Spirit has shown me to be right.”

“And as I cannot in my own strength do this, nor even with a hope of success attempt it, I look to thee, O Lord God my Father, in Jesus my Savior, and ask for the gift of the Holy Spirit.”

You don’t have to share my views of Christianity to appreciate the truth in these words or see the power in this approach to each day. This is a post I would suggest book marking and visiting often….or if you are like me…DAILY!

I am never able to do this perfectly every day in action…I probably don’t even get close…but just attempting it makes a massive difference in my life and I guarantee it will make a difference in yours too.
