I Call these My Rules of Conduct, do your best with these everyday and they will make a world of difference!

1. Be Nice

This should be easy for everyone but apparently it’s not. Make sure you are nice to everyone, all the time. Niceness has become so rare in today’s world, that people will remember you just because you are nice.

2. Be Thankful

Always be thankful for what you have and what you are given. If you’re healthy, have food, clothing, shelter, and people who love you, you have plenty to be thankful for. There are plenty of people in the world who would change places with you in a heartbeat. As for what you are given, always express your gratitude for any generosity shown to you. Give thanks in person and give thanks with hand-written notes. It will make the other person feel great.

3. Be Honest

Always be honest. It takes a long time for someone to trust you completely and one second for them to never trust you again. Yes, sometimes the truth hurts, but it never hurts a fraction as much as dishonesty that is discovered. You want to be known as a person of integrity.

4. Be Considerate

Always think about how your actions might affect those around you. If you are with others and you are getting something to eat or drink, ask if you can get them something. If you borrow something from someone, return it immediately and in as good or better condition than when you got it.

5. Be Respectful

Show respect to everyone. Everyone on this planet has value regardless of their circumstances. Everyone can teach you something.

6. Be Humble

People are drawn to those who have humility. They rejoice when the humble succeed and willingly lend them a hand when needed. The opposite of humility is arrogance. No one likes a braggart. No one wants to be around someone who is arrogant. Let your actions in life speak for you and when someone compliments those actions say, “Thank you.”

7.  Be Reliable

Always keep your commitments. Always do what you say you will do. Keeping to your word strengthens your self-esteem and makes others feel good about you as well.

8. Be Self-Sufficient

Whenever possible, do things for yourself. Don’t ask people to do for you what you can easily do on your own. When you are struggling with something ask for help, but don’t do so until you’ve sincerely tried to do it on your own.

9. Be Helpful

Always be alert for opportunities to serve others. Little acts of kindness make a big difference. Not only will the person you help be thankful, but you won’t believe how good it will make you feel too.

10. Be Accountable

Whatever takes place in your life is mostly by your own doing. Never blame others for anything. It is a waste of time and energy, and it accomplishes nothing and creates hard feelings. If you do it-you own it, for good or bad. You will be, have, and do in life whatever you earn.
