What is your Heart urging you to do?
As he journeyed he came near Damascus, and suddenly a light shone around him from Heaven. Then he fell to the ground, and heard a voice saying to him, “Saul, Saul, why are you persecuting me?” And he said, “Who are you Lord?” Then the Lord said, “I am Jesus, whom you are persecuting. It is hard for you to kick against the goads.’ So he, trembling and astonished, said, “Lord what do you want me to do?”-Acts 9:3-6
Saul, who most of you know as Paul, had what I would call a serious awakening! From that point on he became, arguably the greatest Apostle ever. Og Mandino used Paul as the figure in his book “The Greatest Salesman.”
For most of us, our seeing the light moments aren’t quite as dramatic! And unfortunately, as a result, we often miss them, and some, unfortunately never see them.
Do you have moments of inspiration where you clearly see or feel that you should do something (that is different from what you are doing)? Do you have ideas that you get excited about? Have you had occurrences in your life that shake you up?
These are all “seeing the light” clues. God blessed you with gifts and talents and abilities and desires. The things that are in your heart to do, are not going to go away. They are just going to stay there until you see the light and act on them.
The things that are in your heart to do, are not going to go away.
You can try to ignore them. You can busy yourself with other things. You can make excuses for why you can’t. But none of this will work.
If you were to ask someone in their last days what they regret in life, you’ll most likely hear two things: That they didn’t spend enough time with the people they love, and that they didn’t take a chance on the things in their heart to do.
Don’t let this be you. Perhaps you can see the light right now?
