“Love suffers long and is kind; love does not envy; love does not parade itself, is not puffed up; does not behave rudely, does not seek its own, is not provoked, thinks no evil; does not rejoice in iniquity, but rejoices in truth; bears all things, believe all things, hopes all things, endures all things.”- 1 Corinthians 13:4-7
This passage so perfectly describes the love of a Mother. I know it describes my Mom and my wife, Melanie. It is easy to take this kind of love for granted. Because when it comes to Mom’s, this is the normal love for their children. They don’t ask for acknowledgement for all the things they do out of love…they just do them.
Yet, if we really sit and think about the sacrifice and devotion of our Mother’s, we would be embarrassed by how overly one-sided the equation is. Mom’s give their all…all the time….for the benefit of their children, regardless of age. And they ask nothing in return.
Make sure you let the Mom’s in your life know how truly special they are and how much you appreciate them. It’s “Mother’s Day” one day in the year…but it’s “Children’s Day,” for a Mother, everyday of her life.
