In striving to become all that you are meant to become, you will want have guidance and education from people who have learned how to take the seeds they were blessed with and blossom. My primary mentors/teachers have been mostly books, and select people who’s insights I have sought (although I am constantly observing and learning from everyone around me). My approach is to evaluate the authenticity of the teaching…in other words…is the person  a doer who also teaches, or someone who has book knowledge but has not done it.

Eisenhower once said something like this: “Farming looks easy when your plow is a pencil and you are a thousand miles from a cornfield.”

I want to learn from the one with the plow…not the pencil. We all need mentors and coaches because they can see the forest when we can only see the closest trees. This is my perspective when I am coaching and mentoring…I use my practiced experience and what I have proven to work in what I teach…whether its one on one or with several hundred people.

Seek teachers who have done it.
