Life will always throw things at us that we don’t expect or don’t want to deal with.
This is just life. Life happens to everyone.
The question is, how do we respond when the unfortunate or unexpected happens to us?
Attitude plays a huge role in this. Do you see the glass as half empty or half full? Is the weather partly cloudy or is it partly sunny?
Having a great attitude will not make you more successful in your relationships or your pursuits, but it will help you in your efforts. On the other hand, having a poor attitude will absolutely keep you from succeeding almost every time.
The great thing about your attitude is that you can choose to have a good attitude. It will simply require some consistent effort to cultivate it. So why can’t we just decide to have a good attitude every day, instead of having to cultivate it?
Because most everyone has been subjected to many years of negative conditioning, and it continues every day. As a result, any negative tendencies we have developed are deep-seated and will take time to turn around. At the same time, society will continue the daily onslaught of negativity.
So the bottom line is that like most things in life, because a positive attitude is so valuable, it will take consistent effort to cultivate. The first step is to make a commitment to work on it. Have you taken the responsibilty for your attitude? When you do, that’s when true change can begin…and it will be a huge change for the better.
I will be writing more about attitude and how to cultivate a fabulous one more in the coming weeks, so stay tuned, and don’t hesitate to share with those who might desire a lift in their attitude too!
