We all have fears. Some are merited and are truly worth paying attention to, like walking through a dark alley in a known bad area. Other’s are mostly just in our mind. They are simply a function of us taking a perceived scenario in our brain and driving it to the worst possible outcome. An outcome that is generally highly unlikely, but nonetheless we make it as if it is the only outcome possible!

If we were to look back in our lives we would see clearly how many of our fears became like walls that kept us from doing the things we really wanted to do. We would see how these fears kept us chained in situations that caused us to miss out on many things. Hindsight is crystal clear isn’t it? We could also look at times when we felt the fear and did it anyway. We notice that we grew from taking those steps in fear. We would understand that many rich things in our lives came from stepping through the fear.

We would also notice that once we stepped through a fear, we didn’t tend to fear that particular thing anymore. Heck, I grew up very fearful, for many years I missed out on lots of things that I now enjoy the fruits of, like building a business and riding roller coasters! The video below is from a few years back, but it is an example of looking at others and what they choose to do as a way of helping to see how silly and small many of our fears are. Hopefully it will help you break some chains that are holding you back.
