Do you ever have days when you just feel down?
I’m just being real with you here. There are lots of trainers and marketers in the world who will pretend that everyday is a slice of heaven and all happiness. I would not be one of those people.
I am a truth guy. I don’t care how successful someone is, life isn’t always a bowl of cherries and neither is the business. Yes, for the everyday person, network marketing is way better than any other way to make a living. But it is a real business which means there are going to be good days and days of struggle. And you are a real human being which means you, in general, are going to have good days and bad days.
I am someone who started the business with very low self esteem and also natural wiring that causes me to have down periods throughout the month regardless of circumstances. In addition to that, personality profiles clearly show that I am very much affected by rejection. So…I get what it feels like to feel down and have to work through it. I also worked through multiple periods where I saw no growth. I had tons of people over the years not do what they said they would do. And I made so many mistakes that at one point I had to work through bankruptcy. I am absolutely an expert on this subject!
Successful People Act Their Way Into a New Way of Feeling
You, just like me, cannot give into it. If you only went to your job on the days when you felt like it….you would not have a job. You have to treat your own business, for your own dreams, with at least the same respect. Taking action is the quickest way to lift your spirits.
There are multiple ACTIONS you can take. One of the best is to simply dive into the work. Taking action in the work will always create new possibility and get your juices flowing. This makes you feel better. I can remember many a time I didn’t want to pick up the phone because I felt so bad. But after making a few calls, I started to feel better and after several calls I felt good.
There are also many things you can do personally to “center” yourself so that you get to a better place in your mind. One of them that works really well is to step back and consider all that you have to be thankful for. I mean really consider. It’s difficult to be down and grateful at the same time.
