Have you ever struggled with Self-belief?
If your answer is yes, you are definitely not alone. I struggled for years with low belief in myself. It is a hard thing to deal with and places giant limitations of our possibilities. There’s a good chance you still deal with it on various levels.
I am a big fan of the Matrix movie. In that movie Morpheus (Lawrence Fishburne), the guru leader is mentoring Neo (Keanu Reeves). In this fictional world, Morpheus has been searching for “The One.” The person who will lead a revolution that will change the world. Morpheus believes that Neo is “The One” but Neo cannot comprehend this. He thinks he’s just a regular guy. He does not believe in himself.
This doesn’t change Morpheus’ belief so he continues to mentor Neo, who though unbelieving, is willing to do the work of developing himself. As the movie goes along, Neo continues to grow under Morpheus’ tutelage and ultimately discovers that he is in fact “The One.”
So what in the world does this have to do with you and your organization?
Most People Have No Idea What They are Capable of
Think about the dream of someone you sponsor into the business. The big picture of creating a full time income from home where they never again have to work for someone else and they can have time freedom to pursue and enjoy whatever they care about in life. Do you really think they believe deep in their soul that this will happen for them?
Think about it. What in their history has made it seem real that they could earn a high income in their bare feet from home? Nothing. Absolutely nothing from most people’s life experiences and history would make this seem believable. Especially if they have any level of low esteem. Which by the way, is a truth for the majority of the planet.
Most everyone grows up in environments where they are told over and over again not to be a dreamer. People’s dreams are squashed so badly by the time they are teenagers that they don’t even share with their friends what they would really like to do. These are the people coming into your team. They want to succeed, but they don’t really believe it can happen for them.
This is where you need to be their Morpheus. After 28 years in this work, I can speak to anyone for just a few minutes and uncover several reasons why they can be successful. But they cannot see them. They are too busy looking through their old programming at all the reasons why it probably couldn’t be them.
You Have To Help them Believe
It’s such a cool thing to see how it makes people feel when just one person truly believes in them. It lifts them up and propels them forward. You are to be this voice for people. They are not getting this anywhere else, including at home. Just a little belief will lead to action. Action produces results and confidence, which in turn builds a little more belief which leads to more action and so on.
Be their Morpheus and the right people, the people who really want to change their lives, will begin to believe. And who knows? They might be “The One!” I give you a little more depth in this video I hope you enjoy it!
